How long does it take to conceive?

The answer is different for every couple, and factors like age, other medical conditions, and smoking and vaping can all make a difference. On average, about 85% of couples actively trying to conceive will do so within 12 months, and about 91% within three years.

If you have been trying for 12 months without success, see your GP for a check-up and to talk about a referral to a fertility specialist.

Local fertility specialists

Your GP can refer you to local private and public obstetricians and gynaecologists for fertility advice.

Genea Orange
